AWT4: Artists Trading Cards Assignment
Drawing
from the ideas and inspiration that Amanda Brittin
gave us, create a minimum of 6 trading cards, using at least 3 different
styles. Include your contact info on the
back. Scan or photograph your work, so
that you have a
record after they get traded away in out trading event.

Basics
- The only restriction is that
the cards are 2.5 x 3.5 inches
- Use any media that we have at
hand – the examples above are just a small sample, including painted, soap
(!), macrame, lino
cut, and found items. Most mix several
media
- The cards must be tradable –
you have to be prepared to let go of them, and they must be appealing
enough that others want to trade for them
What Does “At Least 3
Styles” Mean?
- Use a variety of media e.g. ink, paint, melted crayon, collage
from magazines and newspapers, layers of construction paper, computer
printouts of anything you produce in Photoshop (e.g. a collage), glued
hair, string, weaving, embroidery, garbage, dried plants
- Mix media – add collaged text
to an abstract creation or a hand tinted photograph. Try to go beyond the ordinary for at
least some of your cards
- If you want to do a series
(e.g. of altered photos), do 4 or more, but you still need to do 2 other
styles
