At the suggestion of the Eco club, there will be an Art competition to celebrate Earth Week. Your assignment is to enter this contest by creating a work in Photoshop with an environmental theme and message. The format is fairly open, but
· the most dominant image must be your own photography. Other images can come from the Internet, but as always, keep the jpegs and a list of source URLs
· the piece should use some of the layer blending skills we’ve been learning
· it should include text to state or reinforce your message
Other than that, use your imagination to come up with a poster that conveys an environmental message that you think is important. How can you se your photographic and Photoshop skills to make it appealing and eye-catching?
Size: start with a blank document, standard Letter size (8 ½ x 11 inches, Landscape), 200 pixels per inch.
Some Environmental Themes (of course you can think of others…): sustainability; eating local foods; banning excess packaging; conserving materials; conserving energy; sharing transportation; reducing pollution; saying No to consumerism; tap water vs. bottled water
Judging and
Evaluation Criteria

Some posters may be printed, but a better environmental choice is the display screen outside the library, so we’ll definitely use that.

There are some interesting ideas at http://www.alrdesign.com/blog/2008/03/rethinking-environment-in-carolinas.html - a little different than what you’re doing, but they might spark an idea. Here are three different approaches from that collection:

These
two don’t have text, but show some possibilities for blending to make a
