Summary of Your Contribution to the
Yearbook
It’s
almost time to celebrate a big accomplishment:
finishing a yearbook! We’re not
there yet, but with everyone’s help we’ll do it. This may mean doing a bit more work into the
2nd semester for some of you, but for all students, I’d like you to
reflect on what you’ve done so far.
Please
complete this summary thoughtfully. Save
it in your YRBK# folder on the Yearbook drive, but more importantly, email it
to me, or print it and give it to me by class on Tuesday Jan. 20 If you want to do it in Word,
email it to yourself right now so you’ll have it. You’ll find this document in Yearbook:/shared/memos/ Summary of Contribution.doc, and on our
website.
This
will help me evaluate your performance, along with notes I’ve taken, my
impressions over the last few months, and of course
the evidence of the book itself.
Don’t
spend your class time on this. It’s to
be done on your own for homework.
Pages You Worked On:
List the pages.
(e.g. 191-192: Ballooning Club and Balloon Collage)
For each, in brief point form, state:
Other Valuable Work You Did
List
any other contributions you made that were important to getting the book
done. Again, be specific e.g. what did you do, when, how many
hours did it really take?
Things Still To Do
What
are you still responsible for doing?
When will you complete it? E.g.
Getting a group pic of the Archery Club, and a name list. It will be done at their meeting in the first
week of Feb, and placed in the book by Friday Feb. 13.
Or…
helping with our mini-group photo day in
early Feb, and getting the info and pics I need
there, and putting it in the book by Feb.
18.
Realistic Mark Expectation
Based
on your consistent contribution, work attitude, helpfulness, dedication to the
job, initiative, etc. throughout the whole
semester, what range of mark do you really think you deserve? (I don’t base
your mark on this, and I won’t lower your mark if your estimation is lower than
what I think! I just want an honest opinion.)
Best & Worst
What
are one or two things you’re most proud of?
What’s a thing or two you could have done better?
Advice, Comments
How
could I improve the course, and/or make it easier to get an even better job
done next year?
Email
As
a very simple but very important assignment, send me an email right now so that
I have your address. This is not so I
can Spam you; it’s so that if we’re trying to submit a page and we have a
question or problem, we can get in touch with you even if you’re not at
school. Make sure it’s the address that
you check regularly. Make the Subject “Address
for Yearbook”, and send it to james.martin@yrdsb.edu.on.ca
Help !!
We’re Not Done Yet!!!
Major
parts of the book aren’t anywhere near completion yet. If you’re responsible for getting part of
this done, or would just like to help out, I’m proposing to meet one or two
days a week (maybe Tues. & Wed.) for an hour or so during Feb. This would be sort of like an after school
club, optional and informal, except that we do
have to get the job done. Or you could
volunteer to finally get some club or team pic and
name list, or to help organize a mini Group Photo Day (which would last about
one period).
THANK YOU
for this
reflection, and for your contribution to a “memorable” yearbook! You’ve been a good class, and I hope you’ve
learned a lot and will be justifiably proud when you see everyone poring over
the books in June.
