STUDICA Rookie Grant

Robotics Tournaments can be a life-changing experience for the youth that participate. In my own years as a mentor and host I have known students (both male and female) who have chosen a career in computers or engineering in part because of the fun and learning they received through competition. Unfortunately, competitions are also expensive. In the case of this VEX competition, a typical team will require $200 for registration fees, and an additional $1000 in robotic parts/ equipment. I feel that this is an incredible disservice to many youth who are inteligent, motivated but unable to raise the necessary funds.

Therefore, with the generous help of Studica and the Aurora High Robotics Club, we are offering the STUDICA Rookie Grant. This grant is available to one team each year that is new to VEX and demonstrates both a financial need, a passion for technology, and a will to succeed. As part of the grant, all registration fees will be paid for the team, and the team will be loaned a complete competition kit that will enable them to compete in the York Region Tournament.

If you think your team qualifies for the STUDICA Rookie Grant, check out the application form below:
